There was a moment, early on, when AI felt like discovery. The first time a model understood what you meant and gave you something back that you couldn't have made on your own - that was a real feeling, and it changed how a lot of us thought about what was possible. It's become harder to find that feeling. The same technology that made it possible is now producing an ocean of output that all sounds the same, looks the same, and carries none of the weight of something a person actually sat with and thought about. The most capable piece of technology that exists right now is being used, at an extraordinary scale, to create things that nobody would put their name on.

Taste takes time to build and almost no time to lose. When the default output of every tool is indistinguishable from everything else, the people who care about quality start to wonder whether caring still matters. We think it matters more than ever. The craft of making AI produce something deliberate - something that reflects the full depth of what these models can do when the system around them is built with intention - that is the work d11 exists to do.

We build the layer between AI's raw capability and the person using it. Developer tools that give engineers real control over output quality, consumer products where every interaction feels considered and precise, purpose-built models tuned for tasks that deserve focused attention, and workflows that help anyone get more from what already exists. All of it built to a standard where we would use it for our own work, and we do.

We want the experience of using AI to feel the way it felt the first time - like something worth paying attention to. That conviction is what holds everything together, and it runs through every decision we make about what to build and how to build it.
